Herb of the Day: Anise
Posted by TriLight Health on Nov 17th 2021
Anise is found in many different spice blends. The flavor resembles licorice and you'll sometimes even find it used as a licorice flavoring. The seed can be used ground or whole and is a decision addition to food. Herbalists use it not only for herbal benefits but also for taste. It is an excellent herb to use in herbal blends that may otherwise have an unpleasant flavor.

TriLight Health and Anise
We use anise in Tri-Iron which is our pregnancy-friendly herbal iron supplement. Anise happens to be rich in iron and it helps give Tri-Iron its delicious flavor. We combine anise with other iron rich herbs like nettle and red raspberry to make this not only a tasty source of iron but one that is easy to digest. Many pregnancy women find other iron products upset their stomach and this does not.
