September Specials of the Month- Lungs Plus & Lung Tonic

Posted by TriLight Health on Sep 2nd 2025

Believe it or not, September is here! This month, we’re thrilled to shine a light on two customer favorite respiratory blends- Lungs Plus and Lung Tonic.

Both contain herbs for respiratory support that herbalists have relied on for centuries. They have withstood the test of time with over 20 years of use by our TriLight families.

What is the difference between Lungs Plus and Lung Tonic?

Lungs Plus is our go-to solution for stubborn coughs and deeper respiratory discomfort. This soothing blend sits right by countless nightstands.

Lung Tonic is crafted with the same care, it brings that familiar soothing comfort with a twist—friendly for mom-to-be. It's perfect for long-term, everyday respiratory support. Midwife approved. Does not contain Coltsfoot, which should be avoided during pregnancy.

What is in these formulas?

The ingredients are- Mullein, Wild Cherry Bark, Chestnut, Astragalus Root, Peppermint, Coltsfoot, Plantain, Chickweed, Pleurisy Root, Elecampane, and Horehound.

  • Mullein has been traditionally used to support healthy lung function by people groups worldwide.

  • Wild Cherry Bark – Long valued for its calming effect on occasional throat irritation.

  • Chestnut leaves are used by herbalists for a variety of respiratory concerns.

  • Astragalus Root – A classic herb used to help maintain overall vitality and resilience.

  • Peppermint – Known for its refreshing aroma and cooling sensation, especially comforting during seasonal changes.

  • Coltsfoot – Traditionally used to support smooth, easy breathing. (Lungs Plus only)

  • Plantain – A gentle herb often turned to for its soothing effects on irritated tissues.

  • Chickweed – Cooling and calming, it's been a staple in traditional wellness blends for centuries.

  • Pleurisy Root – Commonly used to encourage natural respiratory comfort.

  • Elecampane – A warming herb long respected for its supportive role in respiratory blends.

How to dose and use them?

Both have the same suggested use: 1/4 teaspoon (per 25 lbs. body weight) straight or in water every 3 hours.
Store out of reach of children

How do they differ from other respiratory support blends?

The following are all words used to describe a cough: barking, croupy, deep, dry, hacking, hollow, in fits, loose, racking, rattling, suffocative, and whooping. A cough can be productive or non-productive. Worse during certain times of day and in certain conditions. Accompanied by a wide variety of additional symptoms and so much more.

Thus, there is a need for a wide variety of formulas to treat coughs! Each contains a slightly different combination of herbs to address the different types of coughs. We cannot diagnose or prescribe which products you should use so work with a qualified healthcare provider to decide what's best

What else should I know?
Some people with ragweed allergies cannot tolerate Elecampane.  Please always consult with your healthcare provider before adding anything new.
