Female Formula was originally created for women of any age dealing with menstrual challenges, and it found a genuine niche with teenage girls navigating their first few years of periods. Lately, we've heard from a growing number of midlife women using it too. This makes sense: the hormonal shifts happening in a teenager's body and a perimenopausal woman's body are different, but both benefit from the same kind of gentle hormonal support. We often hear from moms who started their daughters on Female Formula, then found themselves reaching for the same bottle years later as their own cycles started changing.*
Pairs well with: For headache or cramping that comes with your cycle, some customers add White Willow & Feverfew alongside Female Formula.*
A couple of things to know:
- Contains Dong Quai, which can interact with blood-thinning medications; worth a conversation with your doctor if you're on one.
- Contains Blue Cohosh; avoid this formula if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or might be pregnant.
- Dosing scales up before and during your period, lighter the rest of the month.
- Many customers also use Tri-Iron or one of our Herbal Multivitamins.

Ingredients
Female Ginseng (Angelica sinensis), also known as Dong Quai: Called the "queen of women's herbs" in Traditional Chinese Medicine, dong quai has been used for over two thousand years to support hormonal balance across every life stage, from a teenager's first irregular cycles to the hormonal shifts of midlife. That's why such a wide range of ages can use it.*
Squaw Vine (Mitchella repens), also called Partridgeberry: A gentle traditional tonic for the female reproductive system, valued for supporting overall hormonal and uterine health.*
Cramp Bark (Viburnum opulus): True to its name, a classic antispasmodic, traditionally used to ease the physical cramping that comes with a period.*
Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides): Traditionally used to support hormonal balance and ease menstrual discomfort, a different role than the one it plays in our labor-support formulas.*
Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra): Naturally sweet and traditionally used to support hormonal balance, also rounding out the flavor of this Formula.*
All five herbs are in a base of Kosher Vegetable Glycerine and Reverse Osmosis Water.*
