Q- What is the difference between an Herbal tea and a glycerine extract?

A- Customers sometimes want to know why they shouldn't just make a tea out of the herbs we use in our formulas. There are a few differences between herbal tea vs our glycerine extracts.

First, herbal teas are not steeped as long as an extract. A tea is usually steeped only a few minutes. (though some folks steep overnight.) Whereas our glycerine extract are steeped at least 14 days!

Next, if you press herbs after brewing a tea, you might ruin the flavor. Whereas in glycerine extracts, we want to get as much out as possible. We cold press after steeping to get as many nutrients out as possible. Because we've worked hard to make our formulas taste great, this does not impact the flavor.

Last, density. One serving of a glycerine extract can have the same nutrient density as several cups of tea.

Glycerine extracts are also much easier to transport and to dose quickly. This is not to discourage you from drinking herbal tea though! We love herbal tea and think it's a fantastic way to relax, get herbs, and nourish yourself. Both have their benefits.
