Herb of the Month: Female Ginseng
Posted by TriLight Health on Apr 25th 2024
Female Ginseng is best known as Dong Quai by those familiar with Traditional Chinese Medicine. Its scientific name is Angelica sinensis telling us it is related to dill, parsley and carrots. This is one of those rare herbs that gives us a clue as to its use in the name. Female Ginseng has an affinity for the female reproductive system. Some herbalists consider it the best herb for women's health. Not only does it nourish the organs, it has also been traditionally used for hormone balance and menstrual problems. It's most often used internally in teas, tinctures, and capsules.
