Herbal Parasite Cleanse
Worm Out was passed to us from Medicine Bear of Cherokee Heritage. It has been used for decades as our formula and for centuries before by the Cherokee people. We've designed it to be gentle, easy to use, and surprisingly delicious. In fact, it tastes so good that we often hear from families whose children were sad when it was time to stop taking it because they enjoyed the flavor so much!
"My kids will take this because it doesn't taste terrible like others we've tried." Heather
Parasites are something those of us in the US tend to be squeamish about. Folks in other parts of the world routinely do parasite cleanses. This was the norm in the United States until recent history. Not all parasites are harmful. Practices such as handwashing, proper food preparation, and avoiding contact with animal waste are easy ways to reduce exposure to parasites.
Many holistic healthcare practitioners believe that at least 50% of people have some parasites in their bodies. They're common in soil, farm-fresh foods, pork products, contaminated water, and many other sources. It's important to talk with a healthcare provider about your symptoms if you believe you may have a parasitic problem. They can monitor and support you in the best way to treat them.
An Easy Three-Step Process
As you know, we value making herbal formulas that are not only yummy but easy to take. So we worked hard to develop a three-step process to accomplish just that.
1 - SUPPORT the digestive system. We recommend using raw garlic and/or garlic capsules (With meals). Do this for one week to 10 days before moving to the next step.
2 - BALANCE with our Worm Out formula. Begin with 10 days on, then 10 days off, then 10 days on again. We recommend three times per day.
3 - STRENGTHEN with a variety of whole foods, nutrients, and probiotics. We recommend using NOW Probiotics.
These three steps should be relatively easy to incorporate into your day. Worm Out can be taken straight or in water.
"This is by far the best complete program we have tried. My children love the taste and will take it easily and readily. They can't wait until their next dose! I was worried that the garlic capsules would be hard for the kids to get down as the smaller children can't swallow a pill, but they love to chew up their garlic and often race to see who gets it gone first! I, in particular, have had a hard time using wormwood, but this product is gentle and I have not had a hard time using it. Thank you for making this! It has been a blessing for us!" RK
Always consult a healthcare provider before trying something new, especially a protocol like this. These are general recommendations; make sure to tailor them to your needs alongside your doctor.
About the herbs in Worm Out
Here is brief information about the herbs used in this blend. If you want to learn more, we've linked to the Herb of the Month post about each, when available.
Black Walnut Hulls are found in many similar products. The hulls are potent and contribute to Worm Out's unique color.
Wintergreen- Herbalists traditionally use it to help calm the digestive system. This herb is also anti-inflammatory.
Cinnamon is often used in digestive support formulas. It has antifungal and antibacterial properties too.
Pau d'Arco is an herb we could write volumes on. Pay d'Arco is widely used worldwide. Herbalists and even mainstream healthcare providers often use it for digestive, immune, and urinary tract support. Plus, it tastes delicious!
Thyme- yes, the herb you cook with. Thyme contains some remarkable properties while also being extremely gentle. It is also rich in several vitamins and minerals, including magnesium, Vitamin K, and potassium.
Chamomile is often turned to for digestive support and relaxation. It is probably the best-known herb in this blend. While people most often associate it with an herb given to children, adults can also benefit.
Burdock may be one of the most unique-looking herbs we use. It is known as an herbal bitter and is traditionally used for blood cleansing and building.
Catnip is calming for people, but stimulating for cats. This traditional remedy, combined with fennel, is used for infant colic and is often added to herbal gut-support blends.
Wormwood is extremely bitter and very potent, which is why we don't include a lot of it in this formula! The name gives us a hint as to its most traditional use- worms/parasites.
Cloves are similar to cinnamon in their properties. They have a surprising amount of iron, and herbalists love to add a little clove to digestive-support blends.
As you can see, the herbs in this formula are used by herbalists for myriad purposes. Many of them are also valued for their overall digestive health, immune support, and their role in infections.
We hope this gives you a better understanding of this incredible formula!
FAQs-
Q- Do I need to make any dietary changes when using Worm Out?
A- This is something you'd need to discuss with your healthcare provider.
They are likely to make suggestions such as-
- Consuming a variety of whole, unprocessed foods
- Lots of fruits and veggies
- Plenty of water
- Avoiding refined sugars, starches, and other processed foods
- Reducing or eliminating seed oils
They may also suggest adding gut-supporting foods such as pumpkin seeds, papaya, ginger, and turmeric. Towards the end of the three-step process, they may suggest adding fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi, or kefir. Diet is unique to each person, and changes should be addressed with your doctor.
Q- Do schoolchildren need to take this during the school day?
A- No, as long as you are consistent with giving it to them outside of school, it's perfectly fine for them to take it before/after.
Q- Is there anyone who should not use this?
A- Those who are pregnant, or may become pregnant, should not use it. Infants and children weighing less than 25lbs should also avoid it. Anyone with allergies to any of the ingredients also should not use it. Those with specific health problems or other underlying issues may need to adapt use or avoid it altogether. Again, loop in your doctor and work alongside them for the best results.
Q- Do you ship overseas?
A- No, due to international food supplement laws, we cannot ship overseas. Some of our international customers have chosen to have a friend or relative in the US accept their package. They then ship or deliver the package directly to them.
Canadians- You can use your Canadian address as the billing address and have a US shipping address. Choose "Armed Forces Canada" as your state if you'd like to use your Canadian address for billing.
